What our clients have to say

Before coming to It's Your Day, I assumed that the bridesmaid dresses would be overpriced so I decided to purchase my dresses from a larger chain store. I also thought it would be less of a hassle to have the ladies try on dresses close to home since they are from different parts of Ontario. The store offered me a discount since I was purchasing so many, so I decided to go with them. When I received them, two of the dresses appeared to be VERY small. I gave them to the ladies anyway, assuming they must have ordered dresses that size. Both of the girls who ordered XS couldn't even squeeze into their dresses. Each were three inches from closing! The ladies had tried on the dress at different locations, and both were told to order extra small. I called customer service and I was told that there is no way that could be, and that the girls had simply ordered the wrong size. I was even told that they thought I was lying to try to get a free dress for an extra bridesmaid! Even though I told them neither girl had gained even a pound, they insisted I was lying. They called my bridesmaids "wishy washy" and said that they were cheap and should just pay for the alterations themselves. It was such a horrible experience, even when I was dealing with head office. They didn't care that "it's my day", and they certainly did not care to try and remedy the problem. I was just another customer to them.

Coming to It's Your Day was like a breath of fresh air. I've never had such amazing customer service. In fact, I spent an extra 45 minutes in the store just chatting. When we told Sarah our horror story, my friend went to show her a comparable dress. We found it for $50 cheaper, and it had boning and a better all around structure. From the moment I walked into the store, I felt valued and as though the associates shared in my excitement. I've strongly recommended It's Your Day to all of my girlfriends, and will continue to do so without hesitation.

Say Yes to the Dress! (unless it's a replica)

It's Your Day; the one day when all eyes will be fixated on you as you descend down the aisle. Every detail has painstakingly pre-meditated (and likely pored over) from the type of shoes on your feet, to the hairstyle you've chosen, right down to the perfectly manicured toes. This is the day you will never forget, marked with hundreds of pictures taken by a paid photographer and not to mention, your guests. This is the day when even modest brides have their makeup done, and glamouous brides set out to shine. From the moment you said yes to the man of your dreams and set the date, chances are you have been thinking about the one thing that all brides admittedly obsess over: the dress. Some brides have fantasized about their wedding dress since they were 12 years old and have already chosen the design and sihouette before ever stepping into a bridal salon (or receiving a proposal). Others know it's "the one" as soon as it adorns their bodies and their eyes simultaneously well up with tears. And then there are others (like me) who try on dozens and dozens of gowns, falling in love with some but unable to commit to the pricetag of any. Every bride on a budget will undoubtedly search for a savvy way to obtain her dream dress at a fraction of the designer cost. I'm here to tell you from personal experience that cheaping out on you wedding gown is not always the way to go.

Cheap out on your centerpieces, cheap out on your favors, (heck even cut down the guest list if you have to, your freinds and family won't be missed will they?) but don't sacrifice quality for frugality when it comes to your wedding gown. Google is your freind and your foe. You can type in the designer and the style of the dress you've been pining after, and with the click of the mouse you are brought to a website claiming to sell the same designer dress that has a $2000 price tag for a wallet-freindly cost of $200 with delivery in 30 days. Sounds to good to be true, right? That's because it likely is. Many of these websites are creating replica gowns from factories in China, and the quality of these dresses will pale in comparision to what yo will find in a bridal store. Which brings me to my debacle. Being notoriously cheap, I sheepishly ordered not one, but two replica gowns from ebay that were made in China. I spent a few days corresponding via email with the dress maker, exchanging detailed pictures and instructions, finally convinced that I was having a dress designed to the exact specifications of what I was looking for. Sweetheart neckline, mermaid silhouette, empire waist and a flowing organza train similar to a Milaella gown I had fallen in love with. The dress showed up at my door in a lighting fast 3-weeks later vaccum sealed into a small package that I thought couldn't possibly contain a wedding dress. I excitedly ripped open the package and dug into the bag, pulling out the layes of organza and squealing with glee as it came to life in my hands.

At first glance, it was perfect; just what I had asked for. But once slipped it on and zipped it up, to say I was disappointed would be and understatement. The fabric was made from the cheapest satin and it was as shiny as a disco ball. (I always wanted to shine on my wedding day, but I wasn't intending on blinding my guests.) The sweetheart neckline looked like it had been cut out by a 3 year-old and the flowing organza layers fell onto the ground in a very strange choppy fashion, looking similar to hankercheifs hanging off the back of my dress. On top of all this, the fit was atrocious, though I had given the designer specific measurements. At the spot where the dress dipped into the mermaid cut, my legs were trapped together, making walking impossible. (Who needs to walk on their wedding day anyways? l hear it's over rated.) After this flop, what made me have a second replica gown made by the same person? I'll say mostly budget qualms, combined with some desperation, peppered with stupidity. I figures that spending $425 on two replica gowns was still cheaper than buying a dress in a bridal store. Luckily there is a happy ending to my story, which I can attribute to It's Your Day Bridal store. The staff at It's Your Day swooped in and saved my wedding dress nightmare by finding me the dress of my dreams and taking the time to make me feel like the most important person to step into their store, as they do with all of their brides. Now I can walk down the aisle truly looking and feeling like a million bucks, as opposed to resembling a shiny disco ball mermaid from outerspace.

I just got married on November 13th and I cannot thank It's Your Day enough for what they have done for me. I had originally bought my dress at another boutique where they failed to measure me properly and ordered my dress way too small (a month before my wedding). Not only did they try to blame me, they did not refund me & left me with a month to find a new dress. I went to It's Your Day and the second I walked in the door I have never felt so at ease. Not only did they find me my dream dress in a heartbeat, but they had it rush ordered for me in a matter of weeks, altered it, customized it just how I pictured it and basically made me the happiest bride in the world! If it wasn't for them, I would have had no dress or have had to have settled for a random last minute one. I highly recommend It's Your Day Bridal Boutique to all you brides out there! You won't be disappointed and they are an example of what every boutique should be like. Thanks again.

Hi Sarah

I wanted to send a special 'thank you' your way and to your staff. I know that I was somewhat skeptical and it got pretty stressful there when I was waiting for my dress; however, it was well worth the wait! You certainly came through for me. Thanks so much for getting after the company to ship my dress. I can't imagine now wearing anything else. It was a very wonderful day, and everyone was in awe of my dress. It turned out perfect! All the best to you, and if I have any more weddings (not for at least a couple of years I hope (lol)), I would not hesitate to buy from "It's Your Day".
All the best,

Barb Tattersall (Denomey)

Dear Sarah, thank you so much for all that you and your staff did to make our 07-07-07 wedding experience so wonderful! Friends said that our daughter had the most beautiful wedding gown they had ever seen. Everyone also loved her veil and headpiece, my gown, the bridesmaids' dresses, and all our jewellery. It was very convenient that we were able to get everything in one store. When people asked us where we had found such beautiful items, we were happy to tell them about It's Your Day.

We so appreciate your patience, effort, and expertise in helping us find and fit just the right pieces for everyone in our party!
